Tucked into the Blue Ridge Mountains in western North Carolina lies Asheville, a vibrant city with much to offer. Whether you’re seeking a mountain escape, a culinary haven, or something in between — Asheville’s got you covered.

The city of Asheville boasts a rich history that spans several centuries. Originally inhabited by indigenous peoples, including the Cherokee, the area saw European settlement in the late 18th century. The town of Asheville was officially established in 1797 and flourished as a center for trade and commerce, particularly in timber and agriculture.
In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Asheville experienced a period of rapid growth and prosperity, fueled by the arrival of the railroad and the rise of the tourism industry, thanks to its stunning natural beauty and temperate climate. The city became a popular retreat for the affluent, who built grand estates and luxurious hotels, earning Asheville the nickname "The Land of the Sky." Today, Asheville is renowned for its vibrant arts scene, thriving culinary scene, and outdoor recreational opportunities, while still retaining much of its historic charm.
Hotels
For a charming and cozy stay, consider booking a room at The Princess Anne, a boutique hotel located five minutes from downtown Asheville. Each stay includes a complimentary made-to-order breakfast downstairs in their lovely dining room, as well as a wine & hors-d’oeuvres reception each afternoon. What more could you ask for? The Biltmore Estate might be Asheville’s #1 attraction - and for good reason. This attraction is a must-visit for travelers seeking a glimpse into the lavish lifestyle of America's Gilded Age. Visitors can explore the estate's lavish interiors, adorned with intricate woodwork and period furnishings, as well as its expansive gardens, designed by renowned landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted (best known for NYC’s Central Park). From the grandeur of the banquet hall to the tranquility of the conservatory, every corner of the Biltmore Estate offers a captivating glimpse into the history of this era. Additionally, guests can wander through acres of lush forests, hike scenic trails, and indulge in wine tastings at the Biltmore Winery, ensuring a memorable experience for all who venture here.
